Botox

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the first FDA-approved treatment for temporarily improving the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and brow lines in adults.

Treatment is a fast 20-30 minute procedure with little downtime. For moderate to serious frown lines, you may see results in as little as 7-10 with results lasting up to 4 months.

What Is The Purpose of Botox?

Botox improves your overall appearance by making fine lines, wrinkles, and folds less obvious. This treatment can be effective on some of your most frustrating wrinkles and fine lines, including crow’s feet and the frown lines.

How Does Botox Work?

BOTOX® is a neuromodulator that relaxes the muscle that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults. Botox treatment helps patients look visibly smoother.

Is Botox Treatment Painful?

During the injection, you may feel a slight pinch, but most patients are able to tolerate the procedure well and don’t report much pain. If you’re worried about pain during Botox treatment, our injector may be able to use a topical anesthetic to keep you more comfortable.

How long do the results last?

After Botox treatment, the results usually appear in 7-10 days. For most patients, these results last for up to four months. When fine lines and wrinkles return, you can have another Botox treatment if desired.

Is the treatment safe?

The risks and side effects associated with Botox treatment are minimal. In about 3% of cases, patients notice drooping of their eyelids. In about 1% of cases, eyelid swelling occurs. Some of the other possible side effects of treatment with Botox include:

  • Dry eyes
  • Blurred vision
  • Neck pain
  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Pain at the injection site

Very rarely, allergic reactions to Botox may occur. Our staff explains all of these possibilities in detail before you have your procedure.

Who should have Botox?

Botox is an ideal treatment option for patients who want to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without surgery. Botox isn’t the best option for patients who want more dramatic results.
